GCFOM serves as a recognized and respected representative and proponent of not just the fishing industry, but of many local and national foundations and charities.

We believe that the sport of fishing is a positive and constructive activity that allows our participants to interact with the vast wildlife along the Texas Gulf Coast.  While providing a stress free environment is indeed one of our goals, we also seek to incorporate the importance of wildlife conservation.  Our objective, therefore, is to help our participants become more appreciative and resourceful in their homes, schools, workplace and day to day relationships and interaction with others.  As a result, the anglers become productive citizen and lifelong stewards in their communities.

Since 2005, the founders and volunteers of GCFOM have been working towards creating a service that will increase the number of youth we can reach in our community that deal with a wide variety of life’s obstacles.  GCFOM is driven to assist our youth with the ongoing pursuit of happiness.

GCFOM is one of several organizations designed to work with local youth groups, boys homes, hospitals, and charities, focusing on the widely recognize passion for fishing and outdoors in this region. Individuals with almost any mental, physical, emotional disability and/or stress can benefit from a day spent on the water with a therapeutic rod and reel at hand.

In addition to working with the young adults in our community, GCFOM has tremendous desire in working with our veterans. GCFOM is sensitive to the transition that our current Military men and women face, therefore, it is our goal to supply the same nurturing and relaxing environment we offer our younger participants.

Gulf Coast Fishers of Men’s mission is to enhance and improve the quality of life of selected youth, teens, and veterans by providing an opportunity to enjoy the sport of fishing in a relaxed, safe and enjoyable environment.

Using the activities involved with fishing and the beauty of the outdoors, Gulf Coast Fishers of Men is dedicated to providing a positive atmosphere for as many anglers possible to celebrate life and improve communities across the state of Texas.

On October 10th 2009, GCFOM will be hosting their 2nd Annual Red Fish Round-Up In November. Hosted by Sea Center in Lake Jackson, this year the event will include 20 children who are currently being treated for cancer at Texas Medical Center from the Ronald McDonald House of Houston.
